Dr. Tracie S. Lee, PhD, C.Psych.

I provide psychological services and psychotherapy to adults, families, and couples navigating a range of concerns, including relationship and interpersonal functioning, neurodevelopmental concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity development, trauma, lifestyle optimization, and workplace or academic functioning. A central focus of my work involves helping individuals and couples better understand relational patterns, enhance the quality of interpersonal connections, and navigate transitions, such as separation, rebuilding trust, or changes in life roles.

I also work with individuals managing significant personal or professional demands, balancing high expectations, burnout, or stress, while seeking greater clarity and wellbeing. I integrate health and lifestyle factors into therapy, supporting clients in understanding how stress, physical health, and daily habits can influence wellbeing and overall functioning.

I consider it a privilege to develop therapeutic relationships with clients, as they are built on trust, investment, and openness. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space for you to share your story. I strive to cultivate a collaborative, attuned, and empathic relationship with you, and to work at a pace that feels comfortable. My philosophy is that the quality of our therapeutic relationship is at the heart of facilitating meaningful and lasting change. In our initial sessions, we will explore and clarify your goals for treatment. Throughout our work together, we will periodically review your progress and adapt treatment to best support your needs.

As an integrative practitioner, I tailor my treatment approach to your unique needs and experiences. I draw from various theoretical and evidence-based approaches to inform my practice. Psychodynamic perspectives help us understand how developmental history and early relationship experiences influence current patterns, beliefs, and relational styles. Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches are used to manage current feelings of distress, promote acceptance and awareness, and support changes in behaviour and emotion regulation. I also draw on Solution-Focused Therapy to identify strengths and develop clear steps toward meaningful change, as well as experiential approaches to support emotional processing, personal growth, and navigating different stages of life.

You might consider working with me if you:

  • Feel stuck in patterns of your relationships
  • Are experiencing stress, burnout, or pressure in one or several domains of your life
  • Are navigating conflict, communication challenges, or changes in a relationship
  • Are seeking to enhance the quality of your interpersonal connections and greater insight into your emotional and relational patterns
  • Are adjusting to life transitions or identity changes
  • Are seeking to manage or improve overall psychological wellbeing
  • Are navigating challenges associated with neurodevelopmental concerns

I completed my Honours B.Sc. in Psychology at McMaster University, my M.A. (Ed). in Counselling at the University of Ottawa, and my APA-accredited Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University. I also completed my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at North Central Bronx Hospital in New York City.

Over the past 13 years, I have provided mental health services in different settings and to a variety of populations in both Canada and the United States. After completing the majority of my clinical training in Ontario within private practice, hospital settings, school settings, and employee assistance programs, I worked as a psychologist in an integrated primary care unit within the largest public hospital system in the United States, serving individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their family members. During my work within an inner-city hospital setting in Bronx, New York, I had the opportunity to serve a population facing complex psychiatric and medical needs, including serious mental illness, extensive trauma history, chronic comorbid health concerns, and significant psychosocial barriers to care. This professional experience has informed my understanding of contextual and psychosocial factors that significantly influence mental health. Outside of my clinical work, I am passionate about athletic training and performance, which has influenced my appreciation for the role that resilience, community, and sustainable habits play in overall wellbeing.

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario in the areas of clinical and counselling psychology.
